Stay connected in 2020

Ha! It’s a New Year! And a new decade! I have been meaning to write about stuff lately and then for a reason or another have not had a chance to pick up my laptop. Excuses, I hear you say? Well, maybe.

I just wasn’t sure what to write about or how to express it because lately I felt, well, a bit messed up.

I mean, don’t get me wrong… nothing major. Those of you who know me well might have not even perceived this messiness at all to be honest. (Forgive me, this intro already sounds far more personal than what I normally write about so I’ll cut it short). I suppose I just had a very busy time – don’t we all? – and felt that perhaps I couldn’t be because I was just doing so much… does that make any sense?

So for 2020 all I wish for is some clarity of mind and mental space to be able to figure out how I can be more and do less. And for the doing part – because we all have to do something – it’s about the quality of the doing – doing something we really enjoy, do it well and treasure our achievements.

Because I kinda realised that it’s when I am really present that I can fully grasp the moment, experience what I’m doing and appreciate it.

During the Xmas holidays I rediscovered drawing (and colouring) and found it so deeply nourishing I wondered why I haven’t done more of it lately. I spent time with my cousin’s six year old kid and – while everyone was surprised we spent so much time together – I loved being able to just be together, no expectations whatsoever, no agenda, no to-do-list.

I have a long list of things I want to achieve in 2020 but really and truly all I want is to stay connected (and I’m not talking about social media).

Have a wonderful New Year you all!
