When things go wrong
We all wish for things to go in the way we would like them to go: we plan, we try to influence, we rehearse the outcome in our head, we do everything we can to make it happen… but of course there are times when things don’t quite go to plan, so what do you do then?
Often the automatic reaction is to despair – of course this will depend on the gravity of the situation – it might just be a 10 minute whinge but generally, as human beings we do have a tendency to react.
The best approach, though, would be to surrender. Letting go of any negative reaction associated with what did or did not happen is the only way to stay in the present moment as, after all, there is nothing we can do to change that and getting upset about it won’t make it any better.
So let’s all learn to accept the things we cannot change and be grateful for the things we have and are able to influence.
